Old Lynchburg Road Work to Continue Monday, February 24th
Old Lynchburg Road Safety, Sidewalk and Drainage Project Up-date

The contractor will be on site, Monday 2/24/14, performing sidewalk work in the area of the pedestrian cross walk next to the flashing safety lights. It is expected that the work will take one day (9:30 am to 3:30 pm), weather permitting, and will require one travel lane and a section of sidewalk to be closed along the north bound side. Two way traffic will be maintained by flagmen during this time.

Thursday and Friday Lane Closures on Old Lynchburg Road
there will be a 300’ lane closure tomorrow and Friday from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. The contractor will be addressing the potholes that developed in the area of the midblock pedestrian cross walk. Flagmen will maintain one lane open at all times, but there may be some minor delays to the traveling public.

Old Lynchburg Road Safety, Sidewalks and Drainage Update
From City Engineer Tony Edwards:
"The City has been meeting with the design consultants, and general contractor on site to investigate the potential sources causing potholes and a sidewalk crack which developed during the cold temperatures, near the pedestrian cross walk section of the street. Once a determination has been made, the schedule set and the weather conditions improve to an acceptable range, these areas will be repaired along with the punch list items."

Got Hazardous Waste?
Rivanna Solid Waste Authority will be holding a Household Hazardous Waste collection event on Friday, March 14, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Saturday, March 15, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. The event will be hosted at RSWA’s Ivy Material Utilization Center located at 4576 Dick Woods Road, Charlottesville, VA 22903. The event is open to residents of Charlottesville City and Albemarle County.
