I am writing to inform the Fry’s Spring Neighborhood Association about a
utility installation project on Jefferson Park Circle. The need for the project was identified when reports of low water pressure were investigated. A new water main will be installed in the eastern loop of JPC from the intersection at McElroy to the intersection of Park Road and Brunswick Road. The new water main will improve flow and water quality for the houses along this stretch and a new fire hydrant will be installed to provide much needed fire protection for the neighborhood.
I expect that the project will begin near the end of October and should last 6-10 weeks. We will try to maintain through traffic during the project, but residents who use this road should be encouraged to find an alternate route, as vehicular traffic can significantly slow progress. Also, there may be times when the location of the construction requires a full closure of the road, except to local traffic only.
Additional notifications will be delivered directly to the residents immediately adjacent to the construction area.
I hope that you will share this information with the members of the neighborhood association. Any questions or concerns regarding this project can be directed directly to me at 970-3908 or stakeme@charlottesville.org.
Thank you for your time.
