CAT to Reroute Through Willoughby

Starting Saturday, October 18, Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) will reroute routes 3, 4, & 6 through the Willoughby Square Shopping Center.  Rather than using the entrance off of Harris Rd, all three routes will access Willoughby Square via the two 5th St Ext entrances.  The current bus stop which is located on the northeast side of Food Lion will be relocated to the southeast side near the front entrance. In addition, Route 3 will no longer serve the Willoughby Square Shopping Center when traveling in the northbound direction from Southwood.  Passengers who typically connect from Route 3 to Route 4 when traveling in this direction are encouraged to disembark at the bus stop located on 5th St Ext in front of Hardee's (Stop #15785). Lastly, the new routing alignments may cause slight delays to Route 4, particularly in the late afternoons when traffic flow increases.  Passengers are encouraged to check CAT's real-time information either by calling 434-970-3649 or by downloading CAT's mobile app before making their way out to their CAT bus stop.
